Basheer Ghorayeb graduated first in his law school class with highest honors from the University of Texas School of Law, where he was a recipient of the prestigious Townes-Rice Scholarship. Basheer spent his first year after law school clerking for the Supreme Court of Texas, after which he joined a private law firm, focusing his legal practice on representing clients in civil litigation.
Basheer now handles a variety of cases for his business clients, ranging from products liability and personal injury cases to commercial disputes. He advises a Fortune 500 company on discovery matters and disputes around the country, and has tried matters in state and federal courts.

BACKGROUND
Basheer graduated first in his class with highest honors from the University of Texas School of Law, where he was a recipient of the prestigious Townes-Rice Scholarship, and an Associate Editor of the Texas Law Review, which gave him the Interdisciplinary Note Award. In recognition of having the highest grades in his law school class, Basheer was inducted into the law school’s Chancellors honor society as Grand Chancellor, and also received the Co-Op Student Award for Academic Excellence. He spent a year after law school clerking for Justice O’Neill at the Supreme Court of Texas.
Basheer graduated from Rice University with a B.A. magna cum laude in Cognitive Sciences.

Basheer was recognized as one of the “Best Lawyers Under 40 in Dallas” by D Magazine in 2004, and as Texas Rising Star in 2005, 2007, and 2008. In 2007, he was elected to membership in the Fellows of the Texas Bar Foundation.
